To aid in the recovery process, LaTESOL has organized the
LaTESOL Post-Hurricane Mini-Grant
and has donated $1000 seed money to this effort.
Georgia TESOL has just made a very generous donation to the cause.
Washington TESOL, Fairfax County Public Schools and
Houghton-Mifflin Publishers are three other organizations that have already contributed significantly to the fund.
If you are interested in receiving more information on giving to the ESOL Katriana Recovery Fund, please contact LaTESOL's President, Jeanne Stacy at stacyj@brcc.cc.la.us
LaTESOL has developed an application process for
Louisiana ESOL educators and school districts affected
by the storms to request a recovery grant.
In addition, LaTESOL has established a committee to review the applications and distribute the monies.
The application can be found at http://www.latesol.org/recoverapp.doc
